Affiliation with Far North Coast Swimming Association allows
swimmers to compete in the official FNC Championship and
Non-Championship Carnivals and the Championship Relay Carnival.
FNC swimmers whose affiliation fees have not been paid are not eligible
to compete in these carnivals.
The Club Affiliation Fee
is set at the Annual General Meeting and must be paid by 30th June each
year.
For the 2009/2010 season the club affiliation fee is $70.00
The Swimmer Affiliation Fee
is also determined at the AGM.
For the 2009/2010 season the swimmer affiliation fee is $5.00 per
swimmer.
Swimmer affiliation fees become due on the 1st of October each year and
must be paid before competing in any FNC Carnival.
There is no charge for non-swimmers.
There is no charge for life members.
At present the swimmer affiliation fees are added to the state
and national fees in the online registration system and collected by
SNSW, so there is no need to send a separate cheque to Far North Coast
Swimming.
All
competing swimmers must be affiliated with
FNC Swimming as
well as with Swimming NSW.
Qualifying times apply for
entry into these carnivals. Swimmers must have swum faster than the
qualifying time to be eligible to compete in an event. Times achieved
at club night or time trials are permissable as entry times at Far
North Coast
Carnivals, however they would not be allowed when entering State or
National meets.
The club
Race Secretary must sign the entry form
to certify that
the nominated times of all swimmers are correct.
The new Entry
Form for
Far North Coast Carnivals is available here for downloading.
It is in Word 97 format and can be printed and filled out in the normal
way.
Check the Forms section for more information.
Entry fees
for Championship Carnivals are $3.00
per event.
Placegetters
who are 13yrs or older will receive
prize money
instead of
medals at these carnivals unless they request otherwise.
First place: $5.00 Second place: $3.00 Third place: $2.00
Swimmers who elect to take medals must make sure the recorder is
notified before the start of the carnival.
Swimmers who are 12yrs or under must take medals.
All
competing swimmers must be affiliated with
FNC Swimming as
well as with Swimming NSW.
Non-Championship
Carnivals are intended to
encourage
up-and-coming swimmers who have not yet reached the top in a particular
event, by excluding place-getters from the previous Championship
Carnivals.
Swimmers
who won medals at the last FNC
Championship Carnivals
(including the FNC Distance Championships) in any
distance are not permitted to compete in their medal-winning strokes.
eg.
If a swimmer
gained third place
in 400m freestyle at the last Championship Carnival, they must not
enter in any freestyle event at the next Non-Championship Carnival.
Neither can they swim in a mixed freestyle relay.
Swimmers are
allowed to compete
in any strokes
where they did not achieve a top-3 placing at the
previous Championship Carnivals.
The aim of
this carnival is to give swimmers an
opportunity to
have some racing in a FUN atmosphere before the summer
season gets going. This will allow them to establish some benchmark
times by which to gauge their progress in the months to follow.
Events will
be run with all ages of boys and
girls mixed - seeded solely according to their entry times.
After the
meet, certificates will be printed for
all competitors listing their results and placings in their age group -
(7&U, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15&over - male and female). No
medals will be awarded.
All
competing swimmers must be affiliated with
FNC Swimming as
well as with Swimming NSW.
Entry fee
for Winter Sprint Carnival is $2.00 per
individual
event.
There is no
charge for entering the Winter Sprint
Relay which is
a fun event.
These
guidelines apply to the Far North Coast
Championship Relay Carnival and to relay events in the Far North Coast
Non-Championship Carnivals.
All
swimmers may swim in their own age group, one
older age group
and open events, except for the 16years and over relay events in the
Non-Championship Carnivals, where all swimmers must be 16 years of age
or older..
Each relay
team must have at least one swimmer of
the correct age.
Where more
than one team is entered in an age
group, at least one
team must be all of the correct age.
If clubs
have difficulty filling all places in a
team they may
'borrow' swimmers from other clubs or from older age groups in their
own club, to form a composite team. This is to prevent disappointing
swimmers who otherwise would not have a swim. However, for a composite
team, no points or medals can be awarded and the meet referee must be
informed before the team can swim.
Entry fee
for the Championship Relay Carnival is
$5.00 per relay
team per event.
