diver 2/5/2010 Break Times. Under the new Swimming New South Wales Competition Strategy it is a prerequisite to include Break Times in meets that are now classed as AA Meets (Open meets that allow swimmers to qualify for Area and State Championships).

Swimmers must have an entry time that is slower than the Break Time listed in the program to be eligible to enter the event.

The Competition Strategy can be viewed on the SNSW website at: Swimming NSW Competition Strategy April 2010 & Beyond
This states - "Time Standards: Break Times (Swimmers must swim slower than a particular standard to enter events)"

Break Times are used to ensure that competitors who enter a meet are not of a higher standard than the level the meet is targeting.

Amalgamation. Swimming New South Wales is now moving forward with the amalgamation of Far North Coast and Mid North Coast Swimming. As such we have been asked to nominate 3 members from Far North Coast Swimming to join 3 Mid North Coast Swimming representatives in a Working Party to facilitate the transition of the 2 areas into one North Coast Swimming Area. The working Party will be involved with Swimming New South Wales in the logistics of how a new committee will manage the new amalgamated area. Particular issues to focus on will be a new Constitution and By-Laws and how to manage Competition and Development, distribution of area funds, affiliation fees, technical officials, etc.

If you would like to be considered as a member of the Working Party, please forward your name, club and reasons/suggestions for our new amalgamated area to the Far North Coast Secretary, Jennie Riley at JENNIFER.D.RILEY@det.nsw.edu.au by 25 March 2010, so we can select appropriate representatives.

A big thank you to all the people who assisted over the 2 days to make this an extremely successful event. Without your services on the pool deck and with timekeeping and a dozen other jobs it would not have run so smoothly. A special thank you to our new friends from Queensland who also stepped up for timekeeping duties as well as assisting with the equipment setup on both days. It was a pleasure to have your company.
